There are few cool entertainment Russian websites made within these few years; in which the amount is very little but this one has caught my attention recently since it’s pretty eccentrics. MusicMp3.ru is an online catalog of mp3 files specially made for music lovers. At that site you can find album reviews, music news, charts, new releases, downloads and full discographies of your favorite artists and bands.
What’s it major attraction?
Instead of having to pay huge fees like in a regular MP3 download sites, you are offered a fraction of the price for some music. Supported by an organization called ROMS (Russian Organization for Multimedia and Digital Systems), MusicMP3.RU are able to provide mp3s with significantly cheaper price, since the overhead costs are much cheaper in Russia.
For example, if you want to buy Bjork’s latest album, Volta. At Amazon MP3 downloads store; you’ll have to pay $8.99 while at MusicMp3.ru, the price is only $1.35.
Payment:
Until recently MusicMP3.RU accepted payments using credit cards and PayPal, but the record industry somehow has managed to manipulate Visa, Mastercard, and Paypal into stopping them from being able to take credit cards and Paypal payments for the side. They are planning to add new payment opportunities soon for international customers.
Legal Issue:
There is a common perception that what MusicMP3.RU are doing isn’t legal, but they strictly pays license fees for all the materials subject to the established Law of The Russian Federation “On Copyright and Related Rights”.
Verdict:
MusicMP3.RU offers a very nice deal if you want to buy musics produced in Russia or other countries who followed ROMS in the continent. They seem to have conflict with major record labels such as those in the USA though, so you might face difficulties if you want to buy album from the region.

Cheap is good, but are you happy to put payment details into a Russian mp3 download site?

Customers should be happy with their decision if they’ve read and agreed with the Russian MP3 download site’s terms and conditions. Comparing a cheap mp3 site with top but expensive us mp3 download sites is like comparing china’s goods with usa’s. Of course there’s a risk.
Ppl who want to buy stuffs from other countries should keep that in mind.

These sites are actually deemded illegal and efforts are being made by the music industry to shut them down which is proven really difficult considering they are in Russia. The best would really be that eventually the artist manage to rid themselves of the music industry and get paid directly for the rights to their song online. We could all have cheaper music while paying a few dollars an album to the artist who would then receive more.
