Question: How do I recover my deleted Yahoo! account?
Answer:
According to my weblog traffic analysis, I found out that many users who have deleted their Yahoo! account wondered if they are able to retrieve their account back.
Unfortunately, deleted Yahoo! account is not recoverable. According to Yahoo!
themselves, once you deleted your Yahoo! account you will lose access to all personalized areas of Yahoo! such as Geocities web page, Yahoo! Mail account, and any other area of Yahoo! that can only be accessed with your Yahoo! ID and password.
You will also not be able to reactivate it after the account has been deleted but you are always welcome to sign up for a new account again.

Are we talking about recovering emails or the actual account?
July 7th, 2008 at 2:05 am
If you are planning on deleting an account you will take out all you find precious so then opening a new account is okay.

if you want to create a new account make sure that your mind double thinks before you delete the old one.

your site should not be called Tips and tutorial it should be called “Paste link and Tutorial, Power to claim it all of it on my side”

Whatever you say George, as long as my techniques are right and legitimate then I will meet my goal to contribute something to people. You don’t even need to know how I do it because sometimes it’s difficult to teach someone what his mind didn’t recognize and what his eyes couldn’t see.

I have a friend, she is asking me how to recover a deleted account in yahoo? she was trying to sign up for a new one with the same name but seems it is taken already by someone.. she wanted to see the yahoo ID’s of her friends there, she don’t care about the mail but the ID’s .. what do you think we should do?
July 17th, 2008 at 3:25 am
I think, username and password is still you can used but you have to wait for 90 days to register again that same user account.

I don’t think one would delete an account and then instantly want it back.

The worst is deleting accounts on places like myspace and linkedin and then trying to re-register and your name is taken!

I use yahoo against better knowledge, would never forget my login/pass though.
February 20th, 2009 at 2:58 pm
I am more annoyed by their rule that if you don’t login for 90 days your mail disappears!!

Yeah like I read an article recently. Your online assets doesn’t belong to you actually. Read ToS closely.

I currently have hotmail and gmail accounts. I wanted a new account, so I tried yahoo. I found, though, that there were too many extras with yahoo, that they distracted from my emails – I ended up spending too long online. I subsequently deleted the account and opted for gmail instead. As always google wins out!

Are the email recyclable? Do they consider it as dropped email?
March 19th, 2009 at 9:56 pm
Great tip, really learned some useful info.
April 7th, 2009 at 3:48 pm

My first email account was on yahoo back in 1997 and a few years ago they told me that they merged databases and my email was a duplicate. It was deleted. I was mad and bummed. It was my first email account!

Deleted accounts can recovered, but if your account is deactivated( by voilating yahoo TOS, like using stolen CC on games site for example) there is no way you can recover, but if its hacked you can call the yahoo customer care numbers. They will ask you details like when u opened the account ask you to list few buddies from your buddy list, few mails in ur mailbox, etc and they will reset password for you.
So a tip for all yahoo users save the fist mail in your mailbox, the mail saying like welcome to yahoo… remember the date and time. you will need this to recover hacked account.
Admin: Thanks for the tip Vikram.

No, yahoo does not issue the same ID for security reasons. That way no one else can get the ID and use it and get email that was intended for you. Sorry!!!

I recently tried to sign in to one of my older yahoo accounts that I havn’t used in a long time and it told me my account was closed. They did give me the option to reactivate that account with the same username and password. But all the emails in that account were gone.
May 28th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
i think you can ‘recover’ or i mean make the yahoo id under the same name after 90 days from the day you deleted the yahoo id..
May 30th, 2009 at 8:46 pm
My yahoo account was not deleted, but my geocities website and yahoo files managed through file manager were. My yahoo has remained active. Is there any way to get back the files if not the website per se? I got some from Wayback Machine, but only about a third to a half.

Ok so I deleted my yahoo email account but I forgot i left that email with some sites i use like myspace and school stuff and I cant change emails unless i have access to my deleted one.
June 1st, 2009 at 11:33 am
I can attest to the yahoo account recovery service. I had my email hacked 9 months ago. It wasn’t easy to do but yahoo customer service helped my get everything back.
Now I filter emails like crazy. Be careful which emails you open, even if it gets past the spam filters.

Please be sure you want to delete your entire account as you will not be able to reactivate it after the account has been deleted. You are always welcome to sign up again for a new account.
September 1st, 2009 at 9:30 am
Please complete the deletion process only if you are certain you would like to remove your entire Yahoo! account and any features you have personalized within the account.
