Windows Vista and XP users now can experience the new open source web browser offered by Google by the name of Google Chrome. The scanned-comic introducing the enticing application can be read at this link.
Here are several features of the web browser:
-
Browser window that is streamlined and simple
-
Clean interface and fast
-
Based on a foundation that runs today’s complex web application much better.
-
Eac tab is kept in isolated “sandbox”, so one tab can be prevented from crashing another and this provide improved protection from rogue sites.
-
Improved speed and responsiveness across the broad.
-
A more powerful JavaScript engine to power the next gen web applications that aren’t possible in today’s web browser
-
Can import data from your previous internet browser: e.g. Mozilla Firefox.
-
Security such as prevention from phishing and malware which utilizes free public API called Google Safe Browsing API.
The add-ons or extensions to enrich Google Chrome’s functionalities are not available yet as expected when it’s still a beta release.
Nevertheless, you can test the web browser by downloading from its respective download page.

It really is hands-down faster than Firefox. Problem is, it does not have the plug-ins that Firefox has.

Chrome’s sleek and clean look is certainly appealing. I’m waiting for the add-ons that I’m using on FireFox.
It’s certainly a most promising browser.

I’ve tested Google Chrome but until it gets a whole lot more plugins to make it more versatile I reckon I will stick with FireFox
