As a blogger, sometimes I find that it’s quite hard to find the latest news, especially when there are many other sites competing to find new content for their blog.
It is a competition after all but I think it is necessary to share with new blogger what I’ve learned before this. The tips that are going to be shared today are “how to get fresh content for your blog” and “how to find the idea of creating new content.
One method that is effective to me is by signing to Google Alert. Google Alert will e-mail you automatically of the latest update from News, Web, Blogs, or Groups. You can subscribe to your niche topic, as example I subscribed only news about tech (see the screenshot below). Everytime new Tech news is posted in the Google News Portal, I will received the alert automatically using e-mail.
Another effective method is by subscribing to the other’s blogger blog. You can use the Firefox Live Bookmarking function or RSS Feed Aggregator software to get the latest update of the blog.
The beneficial is it will bring you an inspiration to create new content that is valuable to your blog reader. The more blogs you subscribed, the more the idea or inspiration that you will get. Problogger always did that and why not you practice the same thing? As long as you do not copy+paste or plagiarize other blog’s content, it should not be an issue.
The third method to get “hot content” for your blog is by surfing the social bookmarking site like Digg.com. Focus on the content in the frontpage. You can assume that the more the story/or news got dug, the better the reading value is. So, share the story in your blog. If cab, with difference point of view.
