A friend asked me, how to download video stream so that he would be able to play the video offline. Hmm, actually that’s quite easy and I think everyone can learn how to do it easily. There are numerous software that you can try out there to record a video stream but today, I will share with you how to do it using a free software called SDP=Streaming Download Project.
The good thing about this software is it did not have heavy requirements so old computer like Pentium II can still use it. Just remember that you need to have decent internet connection though.
Firstly, you have to download the software form the page that I’ve mentioned. (2775KB) Then, install it.
We will download a video from a streaming site. Choose any video streams that you like as long as it gives you the stream url. I can’t mentioned the website here to avoid abuse from the webmaster. ![]()
http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
In the code box, you can see the video url. Click the Open button. Now, put the url of the stream video to SDP windows. Click OK.
Click Go, the program will now download the video and save it as .asf file (can be opened with Windows Media Player). Easy doesn’t it? If you got any problem related to this tutorial, please let me know. ![]()
