Many internet users in Malaysia can’t access international website today (27/12/06) due to several outages at the international links. According to TMnet, this is attributed to the Richter 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck off the southern coast of Taiwan at 12.07 a.m. on 27th December 2006, which caused the APCN2 (Asia Pacific Cable Network 2) submarine cable fault between Shantou, China and Tanshui, Taiwan and between Lantau, Hong Kong and Chongming, China.
Hence, internet users in Malaysia and Asia may experience delay in accessing websites that are hosted in countries such as US, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan and Europe.
Fortunately, I managed to get connected to this blog (hosted in US) at 8.30 p.m. after several hours waiting. Probably they had a temporaly link until the cables are fully replaced.

I am using proxy server to access to the internet.
December 30th, 2006 at 7:15 am
yeah, the speed will increase a little bit if we use proxy. I hope others wont abuse the server by playing online games, running p2p, or torrents.
