Well, if you are an active member of lowyat.net and is very enthusiast with the famous bulk section there, you might realize that someone is selling this so called Genuine Windows XP Professional and Home Edition OEM for a cheap price (RM385, RM 200) about two months ago. OK, at the first time with the information from geek friends and other website like this one, I can only predict that it is fake. Then, I send a pm to one of the member who have bought item (Windows XP Home OEM) from the seller and received a surprising reply.
They’re ahem copy lah. I only bought them for resell. Wouldn’t have found out if the seller didn’t delay my receipt. Returned and refunded 2 sets home. Others sold to customers already.
Hmm..So what make this cd different from the original? An obvious proof would be the red crescent near the Microsoft Corporation logo.
Nah, Microsoft won’t use such ugly shape. Here is the comparation between the fake and the original one plus an excerpt from Cnet’s journalist for your confirmation.

Easier way to do it.
Write this on RUN in the star bar.
%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a
If the window says not Activated.
You do this..
Go to run… write regedit and open the folders in this order..
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
-SOFTWARE
-Microsoft
-WindowsNT
-CurrentVersion
-WP AEvents
-OBBtimer –> When you get to this.. you open it.. and erase the number on the right. Close and do what says on top..

Does this works for XP Pro SP 1? Mine is still running on XP Pro SP 1. It states that my windows is Activated when I typed %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a
I would love a solution to crack my windows into a genuine 1 else I’m unable to update it to sp2.

With regards to pirated windows xp versions and making them genuine there is a simple remedy.
Goto the piratebay.org and find windows xp oem bios emulator.
This will fix the problem and also works on Vista and Windows 7
