An evil though came to my mind this Saturday, how about if I reveal several sources to download mp3 to Malaysian for the sake of education purpose to newbies out there. Well, most Malaysian like to share their stuff and they considered it as sharing is caring attitude especially when the mainstream music industry in Malay being ruined by ‘rakyat’s fanaticism’ to music from neighboring country. It’s a bad habit actually but we can’t help than to stay with this madness.

But before that, I would like to ask you all (net surfers) in which websites do you download most of your MP3 collection? It does need to be hosted in Malaysia, it could be anywhere in the world as long as the founder is a Malaysian. If you found a good one, don’t hesitate to share the link via the comment form.

Below are the top three sites that I have stumbled upon to download Mp3 collection in the last few years, mostly for Malay and Indonesian Mp3 where we can’t get it easily from Google or any other search engines using the backdoor method. Have fun with this simple list!

1) Jiwang.Org

This underground site claimed that they has existed for almost 10 years, probably the most successful website community in Malaysia after Lowyat.net and several other established community as forum.cari.my. With respectable traffic ranking (based on Alexa), this portal is founded in 1997 by a guy with the nickname Jiwang Abdul Karatz. You will find a huge collection of lyrics, international and local mp3s available for download as long as you registered become a member there.

2) Ireans.com

This music site firstly operating in 2006 if I’m not mistaken. It is the only site in Malaysia where you can play mp3s uploaded by member with a nice streaming speed. However, they has disabled the download function to save their bandwidth recently. Recommendable if you want to listen to a song first because you want to download or buy it somewhere else. Like Jiwang.org, they require you to register first before you can use the mian function. A forum is well provided for member to discuss.

3) Scukz.com

The founder claimed it as the fastest growing community in Malaysia. Served by sponsored dedicated hosting, they seems to have no problem for bandwidth recently. Like the two sites above, you can find many type of mp3s file in this website as well as celebrities gossip in the founder’s blog. You can also request for rare songs via the forum.

p.s: A better method than going to website above is to buy the music in local store with your own money for safety. The other blackhat method is by using a p2p software to download ‘em. Just make sure that you did not caught by the authority. Anyway, your thought?
