It’s no doubt that Wordpress is the most famous blogging platform today after Blogger. According to my pal Lovedeep Wadhwa, Wordpress team is releasing new Wordpress update every 15 days. That make me wonder if I have enough time and energy to do all the blogs’ maintanence while posting new stuffs. My webhosting, Dreamhost only update their Wordpress upgrading script when there’s a huge update and indeed upgrading manually is quite a pain in the ass.
Fortunately, there’s a plugin that could help us upgrade our Wordpress blog automatically developed by Zirona. This is extremely useful when you have a large number of blog, let’s say 20 or 30 blogs. Called Instant Upgrade, what does this plugin do?
The Wordpress plugin automatically does the following task:
-
Download the new version of Wordpress Content Management System
-
Unpack it
-
Delete the old file (except wp-content/ and wp-config.php and language packs)
-
Copy the new files
-
Run an upgrading script contained in the new Wordpress version.
You can refer the installation from this page, learn how it works and troubleshooting in case anything goes wrong.

hey thanks for the info… i just read on the technorati blog that if one is using older versions of wordpress then they won’t be crawled due to security reasons.. and also the footer of my admin page keeps warning me of new updates every now and then.. finding a plugin of this kind will solve all issues..
thanks again.
