Tapefailure is a new analytic website to help recording your website’s statistic but in unique way that differ other analytical website such as Google Analytic, which is by letting you record your user’s browsing sessions and play them back, just like a tape. While the name is weird enough (tape-failure), it is not another April fool silly joke as stated in the website.
The beta version of the Web 2.0 service has been running since last year, so it is not a joke (repetition) and you could get the chance to get in on their private beta program by signing up here.
How does tape failure work?
Firstly, users need to sign up for an account and then create a unique identifier for each website that you wish to track. After that, drop in a small piece of Javascript into each page you would like to track, and from there tapefailure handles everything.
Tapefailure tracks our users and records both tapes of your users’ browsing and statistic about the user’s browsing session. All we have to do is log into our account and from there we will the ability to view recorded tapes and statistics.

Well, I think this one is a cool Web 2.0 service to try to monetize our sites in a better way besides by using the help from heat map tracking service such as Crazy Egg (Crazy Egg’s not free though). The most important thing to remember is, it does not collect basic data that other analytics software (such as Google Analytics) gathers.
Instead, they focus on what the surfers do, not who they are and what kind of browser they use. So far, Tapefailure has been successfully tested on all major browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Safari as well as on various operating systems.
