Tux the penguin is the famous Linux kernel mascot. Perhaps the most recognized face in the Linux world belongs not to its creator, Linus Torvalds but to it mascot, Tux. Tux was created by Larry Ewing using the first public release of GIMP which was a graphic editor application as a free replacement for Adobe Photoshop. Larry then released the image under the following condition:
