Google Pack is the collection of famous and established software such as Mozilla Firefox, Adobe Reader, Skype, and Norton Security Scan compiled by Google into one pack.

On 11th August, Google has added another software called Star Office; an office suite software package developed by Sun Microsystems. Star Office suite now includes Star Writer (Word Processor), StarCalc (Spreadsheet), Star Impress (presentation software, StarDraw (drawing tool) and Star base (for managing database).
You can download it for free from Google Pack where as before, it was priced at $69.95. The setup file is 150mb in size so prepare yourself an internet download accelerator first if you want to save time downloading.

What I meant was, Openoffice.org (released in year 2000) is based on Star office which was acquired by Sun in 1999.

Pretty good software and most of all it’s free. Everybody would love it.

Aseem: I plan to use it once I’ve reformatted my computer.
Balinese: Yeah, basically they are good for people who can’t afford the expensive Microsoft Office Suite (like me, hehe..)

staroffice is okay. i think it is quite similar with MSOffice. the only problem is that when a friend sends you .doc documents with tables.

There is a great alternative than the heavy download of Star Office.
You can stream the app direct from Endeavors Technology.
It went live yesterday. http://88.208.208.183/live/showscreen.php?site_id=28&screentype=folder&screenid=442
