I promised to some blog readers that I will update the Blog Pixel 3 Columns Wordpress theme before. It seems that I’ve surpassed the deadline for a few hours thanks to my silly internet connection, but anyway, it’s here now.
I’m happy to announce that Blog Pixel 3 Columns Wordpress theme users now can upgrade their theme to the latest version which is version 2.0.
Here are some enhancements that I made to the old version of Blog Pixel 3 Columns Wordpress theme in the last few days.
-
Better coding (xhtml 1.0 and css 2.0)
-
Added support for gravatar and widget
-
Instruction on how to add ads such as Adsense in the theme file is provided
-
Improved theme graphics (file size and quality)
-
Faster loading time
-
Additional bottom column where you can put the list of your posts
As you can see, I did not use the theme with this blog yet but you can check it out at the demo page.
Anyone is welcomed to use this theme for their Wordpress based blog/website and modify it to their liking but remember to leave the back link at the footer.
Get respect from internet community by appreciating designers’ fruit of labor.
p.s: Thanks to the users who have used the previous version of this theme before.
p.s.s: Any comment, suggestion, or problem regarding the theme? Just leave me a message via the comment form..

Ron, it’s located at home-ad.php and sidebar-ad.php.

Anyway, if anyone wondering the way I’ve integrated the Adsense into my blog posts, the plugin that I used was Adsense Injection.

Hi Fuad - thanks! Questions about the Adsense Injector. I’m trying to customize is with different text colors, etc but it is not taking. Look at my site and the inline Google ads.
Now look at the setup of my Adsense Injector in this screenshot:
http://www.thecubemonkey.com/wp-content/themes/blog-pixel/images/screenshot.jpg
If the injector worked I should have a large black box on my page, but I don’t. Also, the Number of Ads to Show doesn’t seem to work. However, the Number of Ads per Post does work.
Any thoughts? I’m using your new blog-pixel theme.

@TCM: Ads text, url, and link color shouldn’t be the same with the background and border color so you might want to change those three to see the black box effect. (Change Ads text, url, and link color to #ffffff as an example).
For problem two, in your case the number of ads to show doesn’t seem to work because you have only two posts in the front page, meaning that to make three ads appear you will need to write additional post.
Hope this helps.

I really like the updates to this theme. But I also like the color schemes of the older model. Do you have this one available in the other color schemes? Like the teal version?

By the way, this new version doesn’t render real well in IE 6.0. Has alot of extra space above the sidebar columns.

IE6 bug fix:
I missed this one. To solve it, follow the instruction below or download the updated theme files in the post above.
Open your style.css file. In .content selector, change margin-left to padding-left.

Does this theme work with Wordpress 2.3 ?
December 14th, 2007 at 7:28 am
I liked the clean look of this theme, but there are two things I would like to change. I too would like a header image, but you have used a png file, and it is not just the blue part, but includes the border too. So I can’t just substitute an image of my own.
Secondly, the Sociable icons take up a large amount of space. I would like to just have them in one neat line, and get rid of the “list” image. But I can’t see how to do it.
So, I don’t think I can use this theme…. which is a great pity.
