We know that there are lots of extensions for Firefox and some of them are very essential. I glanced trough the official extension site yesterday and found two great plugins that can improve our tabbing experience. The first one is Tab Mix Plus and the other one is Aging Tabs . Combined with Firefox, these extensions are sure going to kick Internet Explorer’s butt.
the look of the “unenhanced” version of tab in Firefox
1) Tab Mix Plus

Tab Mix Plus is a plugin that enhances Firefox’s tab browsing capabilities. It let you set how Firefox is going to behave when opening new window and set the “home page” for every new tab that you opened. That’s not that. It also includes such features as duplicating tabs, controlling tab focus, tab clicking options, undo closed tabs and windows, plus much more.
Full-featured session manager with crash recovery is provided but I don’t think it is needed again with the feature has been implemented in Firefox 2.0.
Since this extension can be quite complicated, you might want to read the help file here.
2) Aging Tabs
The concept for this plugin is, the little the time you use a tab, the fader it will be. This is very useful if you want to diffrieniate which one is more important to you. It will highlighted the tab that you used the most with brighter color.
This extension is intended to be used along with the Firefox 2 default theme on Linux or Windows. It highly depends on semi-transparent tab images, so please don’t expect or request compatibility with random themes.
